Who we are
This website is operated by Caruso Consulting Co Ltd, trading as Screen Door Company ("we", "us" or "our"). We decide how your personal data is used, which makes us its controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). What we collect
- Your name, delivery and billing address, email address, and phone number if you give one.
- What you ordered, when, and what you paid.
- Anything you write to us, including custom-size and wholesale enquiries and photographs you send, so we can answer and refer back to it.
- How the website is used, through the Google tag, as described in our cookie policy.
We never receive or store your card details. Card payments are handled by Stripe and PayPal on their own systems, and we see only whether the payment succeeded.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To take your order, pack it, deliver it and support it afterwards. We need this to carry out our contract with you.
- To answer your questions and prepare quotes, because you asked us to.
- To keep the business records the law requires. This is a legal obligation.
- To prevent fraud and keep the website secure. This is in our legitimate interests.
- To understand how the website is used and measure our advertising, with analytics and advertising cookies only where you have agreed to them.
Who we share it with
Only the parties we need to complete and support your order and run the website: our payment providers (Stripe and PayPal), the warehouse and courier that pack and deliver your order, the service that sends our order emails, Google (analytics and advertising measurement), the chat assistant on our pages, our enquiry and feedback form system, and the parcel tracking service on the order tracking page. We do not sell your personal data.
Data outside the European Economic Area
Our business is based in , and some of the providers we use store or process data in other countries, including the United States. This means your data may be handled outside the European Economic Area. If you would like details of these transfers, email us.
Marketing email
We send marketing email only if you have agreed to receive it, and every message includes a way to unsubscribe. Order confirmations and delivery updates are not marketing and are sent to every customer.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as business record-keeping requires. Messages are kept while they are useful and then deleted.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and the Data Protection Acts 1988 to 2018, you can ask us:
- for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- to correct it if it is wrong;
- to delete it, where we no longer need to keep it;
- to limit how we use it, or to stop using it for a purpose you object to;
- for a copy in a format you can take to another business.
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email theteam@customersupport.care and we will respond within one month, which is the time the GDPR allows.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission, Ireland's data protection regulator, at dataprotection.ie.
Security
The website and checkout run over encrypted connections, and access to order records is limited to the people who need it. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect yours.
Children
This store is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it.
